Apple Cake


There are many different apple pies. Today let´s cook one in the oven, soft and tasty.

Ingredients

4 apples

3 eggs

1 cup of sugar

1 cup of flour

1 cup of milk

1 packet of cake yeast

1 jar of peach jam or apricot jam

Recipe

Wash 3 apples, peel them and cut into small pieces. In a large bowl, stir together the apples with the milk and eggs. Add the sugar, flour and yeast and stir all the ingredients together.

Turn the batter into a 20 cm cake pan previously buttered.

Cut one apple (or two if needed) into quarters and lay the pieces on top of the dough.

Put the cake pan in the preheated 180º oven for 1 hour. Use a toothpick to poke the top of the cake slightly in the middle. If it comes up with some wet batter, crumbs or stickiness, the cake needs to bake some more.

Once you take the cake out of the oven, prepare the glaze. Place the jam in a small saucepan and warm over medium heat until liquid (alternatively you can do it in the microwave).

Using a pastry brush or a spoon, spread the warmed preserves over the apple cake. When the cake is cool, you can enjoy the delicious taste.
